One Block Wonder: A Holiday Spin 🎄

Our popular One Block Wonder class is getting a festive holiday makeover!

Join Educator Jean Ruvel for a fun, approachable introduction to the One Block Wonder technique. Instead of tackling a full-size traditional quilt, we’ll create a smaller holiday project where your hexagons come together to form a beautiful Christmas tree! It’s the perfect way to try this fascinating technique without committing to a full-size quilt.

Over the course of three sessions, Jean will walk you through the process from start to finish: begin cutting and get to sewing.

✂️ Sessions 1 & 2: Cutting, sewing, and watching your One Block Wonder design come to life.

✨ Session 3: It’s time to embellish! You’ll have the opportunity to personalize your Christmas tree using techniques such as couching, bobbin work, beadwork, or embroidery.

This is a great class for anyone who has been thinking about trying One Block Wonder but wants to get their feet wet with a smaller, manageable project. You’ll learn the fundamentals of the technique while creating something festive that can become part of your holiday décor for years to come.

Supply Requirements

Students are responsible for bringing their own sewing machine and supplies. You will need a 60 degree triangle ruler for this class as well as flat head sewing pins.

For the fabric, you will need a fabric with a minimum of six 12-inch repeats. Choosing the right fabric is an important part of the One Block Wonder process, so please follow the fabric requirements carefully when selecting your fabric.
