My name is Jessica Chin, and I’m honored to lead our local Long Island chapter of Quilts of Valor.
This work is incredibly meaningful to me—not only as a quilter, but as someone who believes deeply in the power of community and the importance of recognizing those who have served. Each quilt we create is more than just fabric and thread—it’s a gesture of gratitude, comfort, and respect.
Through this group, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with so many generous, talented individuals who want to give back in a tangible way. Whether you sew, cut, press, or simply want to be part of something meaningful, there is a place for you here.
I also own North Shore Quilting, and I’m proud that our shop can serve as a gathering place for this work—but this group is truly about the people who come together to make a difference.
I would love for you to join us.

Quilts of Valor – Long Island Chapter
The mission of Quilts of Valor is simple but powerful: to honor and comfort service members and veterans who have been touched by war through the gift of a handmade quilt. Each quilt is a symbol of gratitude—stitched with care, respect, and appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
Our Local Chapter
Our Long Island Quilts of Valor group brings together quilters from across the community who share a passion for giving back. Whether you are an experienced quilter or just getting started, there is a place for you here.
Together, we:
- Sew and assemble quilt tops
- Quilt and bind completed quilts
- Prepare quilts for presentation
- Support and grow this meaningful mission
