Many quilt patterns explain how to piece together the quilt top, and then use the generic phrase 'Quilt as desired' for assembling the layers and quilting. This class has been created to give you the skills you need to devise and apply your own quilting schema, using only the stitches available on a domestic sewing machine.

This will be a lecture/demo/hands on program to get you going on completing your own quilts on your domestic machine

What You Will Learn:

Preparing your quilt top

• Layering up a large quilt
• Basting and pinning the quilt layers
• In-the-ditch quilting

Quilting techniques and designs

• Line quilting design overview
• Straight line designs
• Wavy line designs

Understanding the fundamental tools for Domestic quilting and what works best to achieve your desired results.

What to Bring:

We will be working on Panel Quilts, one wall hanging size and one Mug Rug size, the samples will be provided by North Shore Quilting.

Please bring your machine in good working order, our educators cannot stop class to troubleshoot your machine. Basic sewing supplies, pins, scissors/rotary cutter, thread.

If bringing your own machine please bring your OWN walking foot with a seam guide. North Shore Quilting will not be able to provide a walking foot for your specific machine.
