Embroidery on Everything – 12-Month Program

In-Person or Virtual · Hosted by North Shore Quilting

This 12-month embroidery experience is designed for all BERNINA embroidery machines  as well as the bernette 79 and Deco perfect for anyone wanting to expand their embroidery skills—from beginners to seasoned stitchers. Each month, we will explore popular embroidery techniques, specialty accessories, and creative applications to help you stitch with confidence all year long.

This program is the perfect companion to BERNINA’s online course—plus, you’ll get the added benefit of hands-on support from our North Shore Quilting educators.

In-Person Class Schedule at North Shore Quilting

Join us each month on the Third Thursday, and choose the session that fits your schedule:

• 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

In-person attendees also receive access to the same digital content available through BERNINA’s learning portal.

Optional curated supply kits will be available for purchase each month, or you’re welcome to use your own materials.

2026 SCHEDULE:

• January 22: Embroidering on Quilting Cotton to make a Banner
  • Starting with strong foundational skills is important for growing your skills at every stage. This month, we go over basic embroidery tools and quilting cotton embroidery.
• February 26: In-the-Hoop Pouch
  • In this lesson, we dive into the world of in-the-hoop projects, aka the quintessential embroidery project.
• March 19: Patches
  • There are so many ways to do machine-embroidered appliqué. Let’s go over them and how to be successful with each one.
• April  23: Terry Towels
  • A classic embroidery project everyone loves to make! This month, you will learn to embroider terry cloth towels.
• May 21: Tote Bag
  • In our first look into BERNINA freearm embroidery, this lesson in-volves using BERNINA accessories to embroider a tote bag.
• June 25: Fleece
  • Get cozy with embroidered fleece in this great embroidery lesson on stretchy and textured fabrics.
• July 23: Socks
  • This month, we will use the new BERNINA Sock Hoops to make em-broidered socks for every occasion.
• August 20: T-Shirt
  • Here, we will venture deeper into BERNINA freearm embroidery by learning to stitch on jersey t-shirts.
• September 24: Hat
  • Hats are a fun and quick embroidery project if you know the tips and tricks to make it easy.
• October 22: Quilting
  • In this lesson, you’ll learn how to use computerized quilting to finish your quilts or add texture to various projects.
• November 19: Free Standing Lace and Applique
  • Freestanding lace is a staple of the holiday season. Let’s look at the difference between freestanding lace and freestanding appliqué to learn how to embroider them properly.
• December 17: Couching
  • Couching brings beautiful texture and visual depth to your embroidery work. This lesson covers the best times to use this technique and how to master it.
