Imagine transforming a simple fabric print into a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colors and patterns, all with just a touch of piecing magic.
This class is the next level of the One Block Wonder technique. Learn how to add your blocks to the panel using various methods. A few mor steps than the previous process.
You will need 7 panels to make this quilt. Make sure you have very little negative space on your panels. Stop in the shop and ask as we have some perfect panels for this project!
Jean will help students with selecting the perfect fabric to yield interesting and unique blocks, how to cut fabrics, how to use a 60-degree ruler, layout design tips, and how to assemble the blocks!
No need to fear tricky "Y" seams here! Learn the joy of piecing simple hexagon blocks with ease, then let your creativity run wild in arranging and rearranging them on your design wall. With every twist and turn, watch as your quilt takes on a life of its own, revealing a symphony of colors and shapes.
Join our instructor, Jean for a 3 sessions series to construct a One Block Wonder quilt top.
Level: Intermediate. This is not a class on how to use your sewing machine. Students must have knowledge of how to use a sewing machine. You know how to thread a machine, wind a bobbin, and sew a straight line. Students should be able to cut accurately with a rotary cutter and quilt ruler. Students must be able to sew a 1/4" seam.
- Students should feel comfortable sewing an consistent 1/4" seam on their sewing machine.
- What you need to bring: Yourself, your machine (borrow ours if requested ahead of time), basic sewing toolkit (scissors, snips, seam ripper, thread, etc.) and items listed on the supply list received at the time of class registration.
- Don't forget for enrolled students we offer 15% off all notions and fabric (excludes machines and machine accessories) purchased in-store on the day of each class.
- Class length: 2.5 hours each session for a total of 7.5 hours
- Students will need to have all supplies prepared by the start of the first class. Please select, pick up, and purchase all supplies PRIOR to the first class.
