North Shore Quilting & Fiber Art is a specialty quilt shop in Huntington, NY, and an authorized BERNINA dealer. We are passionate about helping sewists, quilters, and fiber artists discover the tools, products, and inspiration that bring their creative ideas to life.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Sewing Machine Sales Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who loves sewing, enjoys working with people, and can turn product knowledge into an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive sewing machine sales by helping customers select the right machine for their needs, interests, and budget.

• Demonstrate BERNINA and bernette sewing, quilting, serger, and embroidery machines.

• Explain machine features, benefits, accessories, and technology in a clear, engaging way.

• Build relationships with customers and guide them through the purchase process.

• Follow up with customers and develop relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals.

• Promote machine trade-in opportunities, financing options when available, and special sales events.

• Support sales of machine accessories, presser feet, embroidery hoops, software, and related products.

• Assist customers with machine comparisons, upgrades, and pre-loved machine purchases.

• Help organize machine displays, maintain showroom presentation, and keep product information current.

• Participate in store events, demonstrations, classes, and promotional activities.

• Work collaboratively with the retail team to meet sales goals and deliver outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous sales or customer service experience; retail sales experience preferred.

• A genuine interest in sewing, quilting, embroidery, or other creative pursuits.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Confidence demonstrating products and presenting their features and benefits.

• A consultative sales approach focused on understanding customer needs and recommending the right solutions.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Comfort learning new technology and product features.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with BERNINA, bernette, sewing machine sales, or the quilting industry is a plus. We are happy to consider candidates with strong sales skills and a willingness to learn.
