Pay: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 9:30 AM–4:30 PM | Full-Time

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Retail Store Associate with sewing experience who enjoys helping customers, sharing their passion for sewing, and keeping our shop running smoothly.

Job Description

As a Retail Store Associate, you’ll help customers find the perfect fabrics and supplies for their projects, assist with everyday store operations, and create a welcoming shopping experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys sewing, working with people, and being part of a creative team.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Greet customers warmly and help them select fabrics, notions, patterns, and other sewing supplies.

  • Use your sewing knowledge to understand customer projects and recommend appropriate products.

  • Cut fabric accurately and assist customers with project planning.

  • Demonstrate sewing machines and products when appropriate.

  • Answer customer questions and resolve concerns professionally.

Store Operations

  • Process sales, returns, and transactions using our Shopify point-of-sale system.

  • Manage online orders, customer pickups, and related communications.

  • Receive, organize, price, and display merchandise.

  • Assist with inventory counts and keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing.

  • Answer phone calls and respond to customer emails.

Classes & Events

  • Help organize class registrations and support workshops and store events.

  • Assist with classroom and event setup and breakdown, as needed.

  • Help prepare materials and supplies for classes and special events.

  • Work with the team to ensure classes and events run smoothly and customers feel welcome.

Qualifications

  • Sewing experience is required. Familiarity with quilting, fabrics, and sewing techniques is a strong plus.

  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable using email, phones, computers, and point-of-sale systems.

  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift at least 40 pounds.

  • Available to work Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 AM–4:30 PM.

  • Positive attitude, attention to detail, and a team-oriented approach.
