Sewing Machine Technician

North Shore Quilting | Huntington, NY

Pay: $20–$30 per hour
Schedule: 20–40 hours per week | Full-Time or Part-Time | Flexible Hours

Do you love motors and enjoy figuring out how things work? North Shore Quilting is looking for a Sewing Machine Technician to join our team! We’re seeking someone who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining sewing machines, from traditional mechanical models to today’s computerized machines.

Whether you’re an experienced technician or someone with strong mechanical and technical skills who is eager to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and computerized sewing machines.

  • Perform routine servicing, adjustments, and repairs.

  • Identify mechanical and electronic issues and determine appropriate solutions.

  • Keep work areas organized and maintain accurate service records.

  • Participate in manufacturer training and ongoing education, including travel as needed.

  • Provide friendly, professional service to customers and support our team.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Interest in sewing machines, electronics, and how things work.

  • Ability to learn new technologies and repair techniques.

  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

  • Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset.

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Willingness to travel for manufacturer training as needed.

Experience repairing sewing machines is a plus, but we’re happy to consider candidates with the right mechanical skills, technical curiosity, and eagerness to learn.
