In this engaging class, students will discover how to sew a beautiful and functional tote bag using a tote bag panel. We will show you how quick and simple it is to make your own bag, whether it's your first or 100th! Designed with beginners in mind, this class will provide you with the necessary skills and techniques to confidently craft tote bags!
In this class, we will learn how to cut the tote pieces from the panel, sew an accurate seam, and construct the basic tote. The educator will share ideas for customizing and adding more details to your tote for future bags. For this class, the goal is to learn how to construct the bag.
The fabric panel and matching thread are included in the class. You may choose your fabric panel on the day of class.
Join our instructor, Jessica for a 1 session to make your tote bag.
Limited to 6 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
Level: Beginner. Must have knowledge of how to use a sewing machine. You know how to thread a machine, sew a straight line and wind a bobbin.
- Students should feel comfortable sewing an even 1/2" seam on their sewing machine.
- What you need to bring: Yourself, your machine (borrow ours if requested ahead of time), and a basic sewing toolkit (scissors, snips, seam ripper, pins, etc.)
- Don't forget for enrolled students we offer 15% off all notions and fabric (excludes machines and machine accessories) purchased in-store on the day of each class.

Class length: 4 hours
- Students will need to have all supplies prepared by the start of the first class. Please select, pick up, and purchase all supplies PRIOR to the first class.

Should you need to cancel or reschedule a class at North Shore Quilting, we require 72 hours notice. A full refund will be issued or you may request a Class Credit to be used toward another class we offer. If a cancellation, regardless of the reason or circumstances, is received less than 72 hours prior to the class, no refund or Class Credit will be issued. Please understand that this allows the educators and team at North Shore Quilting to be fully prepared for the correct number of students and to allow for time to fill the slot in classes that often have a waiting list.
We do not guarantee that any student will complete the project in its entirety.
