In this immersive full-day class, you'll embark on a creative journey to bring your dream jacket to life. Here's what's in store for you:
- Gain insights into various construction methods through an introductory lecture, to help you choose the best approach for your project.
- Determine sizing and pattern adjustments under Catherine's guidance, ensuring a flawless fit tailored to your preferences.
- Engage your creativity as you engineer the layout of your jacket, exploring the options of batting and quilting techniques.
- Get hands-on as you cut and stitch your chosen jacket pattern (we recommend a boxy fit with minimal seams). We will have several jacket patterns for purchase available in-store and online. Our favorites include Grainline Studio's Tamarack Jacket and Kathy Beltz's Comfy Quilted Jacket.

This class is for first-timers as well as students who may have started a jacket and want support in completing the garment.
Join our instructor, Catherine for a full-day session with a 30 minute break, to make your very quilted jacket.
Limited to 8 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
Level: Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. Must have knowledge of how to use and troubleshoot a sewing machine. You know how to thread a machine, sew a straight line and wind a bobbin.
- Students should feel confident sewing an even 1/2" seam on their sewing machine.
- What you need to bring: Yourself, your machine (borrow ours if requested ahead of time), basic sewing toolkit (scissors, snips, seam ripper, thread, etc.) and items listed on the supply list received at the time of class registration.
- Don't forget for enrolled students we offer 15% off all notions and fabric (excludes machines and machine accessories) purchased in-store on the day of each class.
- Class length: 6 hours with a 30 minute break
- Students will need to have all supplies prepared by the start of the first class. Please select, pick up, and purchase all supplies PRIOR to the first class.
By registering, you acknowledge that you have read and accept the class policies listed below.
Should you need to cancel or reschedule a class at North Shore Quilting, we require 72 hours notice. A full refund will be issued or you may request a Class Credit to be used toward another class we offer. If a cancellation, regardless of the reason or circumstances, is received less than 72 hours prior to the class, no refund or Class Credit will be issued. Please understand that this allows the educators and team at North Shore Quilting to be fully prepared for the correct number of students and to allow for time to fill the slot in classes that often have a waiting list.
We do not guarantee that any student will complete the project in its entirety.
